Founded in 1978, Hi-Tec Sports USA, Inc. is a leading footwear manufacturer based in Modesto, CA, that distributes over 1.5 million pairs of shoes each year nationwide under both the Hi-Tec and Magnum brands.

History of Hi-Tec

A subsidiary of privately owned parent company Hi-Tec Sports of Britain, Hi-Tec Sports USA, Inc. joins several other international subsidiaries, distributing in over 70 countries, to form a multi-million dollar global footwear enterprise.

Hi-Tec Sports USA, Inc. contracts with over 50 independent sales representatives to place Hi-Tec and Magnum footwear in sporting goods stores, outdoor specialty stores, department stores, and uniform and military outlets throughout the country. In addition, several Hi-Tec retail outlets located throughout northern California contribute to the success of both brands.

Originators of the "lightweight hiker" over 20 years ago, Hi-Tec continues to offer comfort, durability, performance, and value in innovative adventure outdoor footwear today. The Adventure Sport Collection, the Sierra Collection, and the Children's Collection round out the Hi-Tec outdoor adventure brand which includes styles for men, women, and children.

The emerging popularity of adventure racing provides invaluable product field testing for design and development of the Adventure Sport Collection, which includes trail runners, cross trainers, and watersport shoes. The Sierra Collection features authentic lightweight, performance-driven footwear designed for a wide range of rugged outdoor activities including hiking and backpacking. With more families than ever enjoying the outdoors together, the Children's Collection provides kids with footwear that offers the same exceptional durability, comfort, and value that is found in the most successful adult Hi-Tec styles.

Appealing to professional and amateur athletes alike, Hi-Tec Sports USA sponsors the annual Hi-Tec Adventure Racing Seriesâ in which three-member teams negotiate challenging courses together through trail running, mountain biking, kayaking, and special tests. From just 450 participants in 1996 to over 8,000 in 2000, the Hi-Tec Adventure Racing Seriesâ is now held in cities from coast to coast, from north to south, and is proving to be one of the most popular sports of the new millennium. Hi-Tec conducts research and development field testing during these adventure races and is proud to be one of the first companies in the industry to design an entire product series, the Adventure Sport Collection, devoted to outdoor adventure sports.
